Game-improvement advances aren’t just in drivers, irons or balls. They’re in shoes, too. Padraig Harrington says the sole technology on his Hi-Tec CDT shoes has helped him increase his ball speed. Etonic’s G>SOK has a cleatless sole designed to improve traction and decrease weight. An important element in soles is thermoplastic urethane (TPU), a malleable polymer used to provide cushioning and structural support. The good news is the new soles aren’t hard on greens.
