It was 1996, October 2nd to be exact (hence the name of the collection) when Lance Armstrong was diagnosed with cancer. Some doctors gave him a 50% / 50% chance to live through it. Not only did he live, he went on to win a record 6 times at The Tour De France.
A little over a year ago Lance designed and sold a little yellow wristband and entitled it LiveStrong. Actually he sold over 50 million of them and raised more than $50 million dollars for The Lance Armstrong Foundation
Well now Nike and Lance have teamed up to create the 10//2 Collection. A press release from Nike states that The 10//2 Collection will be “offering a variety of high performance technical cycling wear and lifestyle products”, that were “inspired by Lance Armstrong’s celebration of life.” The collection will include caps, messenger bags, t-shirts & much more.
And best yet, just like each Livestrong wristband, The Lance Armstrong Foundation will continue donating $1.00 for each 10//2 Collection item sold.
You can find these items from the 10//2 Collection at www.wearyellow.com and www.niketown.com. Please click here to read the full press release from Nike.
