Approximately 300 million golf balls are lost annually in the Uniter States. That’s 821,917 golf balls each day that are launched, sliced, hooked, shanked or well just thrown into the woods, never to be found again. While the folks over at Sanderson Golf can’t help us with our slice, they can help us find the ball once it’s lost.
The Ballfinder SCOUT is a new electronic golf innovation designed to locate lost golf balls. Its uses digital imaging technology to locate the white on all standard golf balls. The two megapixel imager can locate golf balls within seconds at a range of 35 feet with as little as only 3 dimples on the ball visible. The location of the lost golf ball is then displayed on an LCD display, the Ballfinder SCOUT™ will then emit a vibro-buzz to confirm it has located a golf ball, a series of LED lights then point the golfer in the direction of the golf ball.
Only available in the UK, this small device promises to speed play, save money on golf balls, and reduce penalty strokes for all of us. As soon as it’s available in the U.S., we’ll let you know.
