When a volcano explodes, it forms a caldera in its crater. When the golf ball explodes off the tee at Vulcan Golf, it’s called the CalderaZ 440.

“Our CalderaZ 440 driver has been one of the most popular clubs in our line,” offered Vulcan Golf president Gary Hansberger. “Actually, it’s pretty easy to like because it’s built to be easy to hit and that’s an important criteria in any club designed and built at Vulcan Golf.”

The rage of the day is to have moveable weights in the head of the driver so you can change the flight pattern (draw or fade) of the drive without making a swing adjustment while others have the face so closed to promote a draw that it looks like it’s aimed at your knee. The CalderaZ 440 has none of that. What it does have is the ability to launch the ball farther than you’ve ever hit it while looking good at the same time.

“The CalderaZ 440 club head has a neutral bias in the face,” explained Hansberger, “but what we did was weight the club head more towards the heel and this promotes a draw without distorting the look of the club by shutting the face. We also have a well placed center of gravity and a very strong MOI (moment of inertia).”
